I’m Maddie Lyons, a clinical naturopath with a Bachelor of Health Science (Naturopathy) from Endeavour College of Natural Health and member of the Naturopaths and Herbalists Association of Australia.
I first discovered naturopathy as a teenager when a naturopath helped me to resolve a recurring respiratory illness. I discovered the importance of being heard, and exploring the root cause. I decided to study naturopathy so I could help others too.
At the time, I was working in childcare, where I gained a deeper understanding of the health concerns voiced by mothers and young families. I chose to focus my studies on fertility, women’s reproductive health and children’s health conditions.
During my degree, I lived in Northern NSW and worked for Mudbrick Herb Cottage, tending to the herb nursery and manufacturing herbal products. As my interest in herbal medicine and plants grew, I completed my Permaculture Design Certificate at Kendall Permaculture Farm, where I learned more about nature’s cycles and the intersection of plants, food, people and medicine.
Now based in Sydney, I predominantly work with herbal and nutritional medicine in clinical practice to restore health and wellbeing. I am passionate about the power of natural medicines and taking the gentle approach to treating ailments, supporting others to achieve their health goals with a holistic and integrative approach.
In 2024, I joined the Apotheca team working in a clinic and dispensary environment under the mentorship and guidance of naturopath and herbalist Anthia Koullouros.
I am thrilled to also join The Village Collective, a community of allied health professionals focused on pregnancy, postpartum care, child and family health.
I currently offer naturopathy consultations in-person and online via Telehealth at Apotheca by Anthia and The Village Collective.
